Florence Avenue Alert

Florence Avenue Alert

The Bayshore Regional Sewer Authority, through Metra Industries, will be inspecting and measuring their interceptor sewer that runs underneath Florence Avenue.

These activities are expected to start on May 18th, 2017, between Route 36 and Clark Street.   After this section is completed, work will progress to the North side of Route 36 through Middle Road.

The duration of this inspection will be approximately 2 weeks. During this time, Metra Industries will access the sewer through several manholes within this area.

Traffic patterns will be altered during the day (on weekdays only, between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM).

The Hazlet Police Department will be on site to control the traffic, and will allow access for local traffic.

The inspection of the sewer line is the first step to rehabilitating the existing sewer on Florence Ave.

The actual rehabilitation is anticipated to start in June or July of 2017. A new notice will be generated and posted approximately one week prior to the start of the next Phase.
