Construction debris is the responsibility of the contractor and/or resident to remove. This includes lumber, paneling, plasterboard, roofing material, wood fence, concrete, asphalt or brick, and similar items. Most of the above items can be brought to the Monmouth County Reclamation Center located on Shafto Rd. in Tinton Falls. For more information on disposal hours you may call the Reclamation Center at 918-0142.
Hazlet Township does not pick up grass at any time during the year. We encourage you to "clip it and leave it" or to start your own backyard composting. For more information on composting, contact the Environmental Commission at 264-1700. If you have grass to dispose of, contact the Monmouth County Reclamation Center at 922-4815.
Improper disposal of home use syringes may cause unnecessary exposure to those handling waste, as well as the community at large. Even if a person never acquires an infectious disease from a needle stick, there is a tremendous amount of anxiety involved with such an incident. Also, it is a violation of State law to dispose of a syringe without properly destroying it first.
Bayshore Community Hospital (Beers St., Holmdel) offers a free disposal program to area residents who use syringes at home for diabetes, etc. They will provide you with a syringe container to store your used syringes and will accept the container from you when full. (Please note that the hospital will only accept syringes in the proper container. Bags, plastic bottles, etc. are not acceptable.) To register for this program, please call the hospital at 732-739-5900 and ask for the syringe disposal program.
