Hazlet Day Fun, Hazlet Halloween Bonfire Announced, Clear Out Closets for Garage Sale and Bulk Item Drop-Off Days
Hooray for Hazlet Day 2023
Hazlet Day 2023 was a blast! The rainy weather mostly held off (whew!) and hundreds turned out and strolled the tents to celebrate our hometown on its 175th Anniversary. Our Township Committee members stepped into the dunk tank and got sent plunging into some very cold water to lots of laughs! There were a dozen excellent food trucks, exciting live music, a dance party, and demonstrations of martial arts and HYAL Cheer. The kids loved the bouncy inflatables, firetrucks, carnival games and petting zoo. A little trackless train whisked visitors around the fair. Clean Communities gave out 500 Hazlet-themed reusable bags. The Hazlet First Aid's Super 50/50 actually sold out of raffle tickets. At 4 pm, the winning ticket was pulled and the Hazlet resident called on speakerphone to learn she won $10,000!

Hazlet Fishing, Crabbing & Boating
On this holiday weekend, we Hazlet residents love our proximity to the Jersey waterfront. Hazlet has two marinas in the West Keansburg section of town: Point Comfort and Lentze Marinas along Thorne's Creek near Raritan Bay. You can also see people crabbing on a Henry Hudson Trail bridges and fishing along the banks of Natco Lake near Route 36. The iconic Tackle Box Fishing Co. shop at 1134 Route 36, owned by the Sciortino family, has been a Route 36 landmark for nearly 50 years and contributes to local snapper derbies.
