Gov. Murphy signed an Executive Order giving municipalities the authority to extend the grace period for second quarter real property taxes. Hazlet Township adopted a resolution extending the second quarter grace period to June 1.
Payments received by the Tax Collector on or before June 1 will not incur any interest penalties. Payments received after June 1 will accrue interest penalties from the statutory due date of May 1.
A postmark is not recognized as the payment date. Payments can be placed in the drop box located outside the front doors of Town Hall, next to the flag poles, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
