Starting June 15, Hazlet invites restaurants and businesses to expand outdoors.
Hazlet Township wants merchants to know that they may expand their curbside services to include outdoor dining and retail sales on sidewalks and other permitted areas, with limitations, provided they accept responsibility for safety. The Township Committee passed a resolution clearing the way on June 2.
All retail businesses and restaurants who wish to extend their services outdoors should contact Sharon Keegan, Zoning Officer at 732-264-1700 ext. 8656 or at skeegan@hazlettwp.org to discuss their proposed operations specific to their location. There are no zoning permits required for this temporary use or fees for this guidance offered.
Businesses may also erect temporary tents or canopies. The use of temporary electricity may require various permits. All activities and operations must comply with the Governors executive orders at all times.
