Hazlet objected to the proposed rezoning of the Middle Road parcel for a high density, multilevel affordable housing complex at Holmdel’s Committee meeting yesterday.
Hazlet’s attorney and mayor cited concerns over proper planning area, site suitability, proper notice, parking set back, building set back, building height, easement and disregard for the adjacent Hazlet neighborhood. Several residents also spoke out about the impact of the rezoning to home values, traffic circulation and potential flooding.
While Holmdel passed the ordinance, these objections are now on record. Holmdel’s compliance hearing with Judge Linda Grasso Jones is scheduled for August 5. Hazlet will continue to object to this project as designed.
