Dear Hazlet Residents:
Hazlet Township has been in constant contact with JCP&L representatives concerning the status of power restoration in Hazlet. He have expressed our deep concern for those still waiting.
Here is the latest information from JCP&L this morning:
As of 10 am, JCP&L reports that 846 of 7,564 Hazlet customers are without power.
Here is their plan for power restoration in Hazlet: 113 will be restored on Thursday, 269 on Friday, 228 on Saturday, 130 on Sunday, 81 on Monday and 24 on Tuesday.
There is a possibility you may experience an outage while crews work on circuits. Please don’t be alarmed. The outage could be momentary, or a maximum of 3 hours.
There are 14 circuits that feed Hazlet out of substations that serve multiple towns. The company is working strategically circuit by circuit (not town by town), giving priority first to circuits serving critical facilities, nursing homes, etc., and then those with the most residential outages.
Crews are repairing damaged circuits and a broken pole today. JCP&L says there are 34 damaged homes in town, currently offline.
I would like to thank the utility line workers and our DPW who are working diligently and for the first responders who continue to help those in need.
Mayor Mike Glackin
