[ARCHIVED] Severe Weather Impacts Hazlet

Steer clear of downed power lines

Power outages, downed wires

A severe wind storm blew through Hazlet Township last night with very strong winds and rain.

By 9:30 a.m. this morning, it is estimated that at least 15 percent of customers are without power. JCP&L estimates restoration will be by 3 p.m.

A JCP&L spokesman said crews have been working throughout the evening to restore thousands of customers who lost power. "Crews continue to work to address emergencies and safety issues first and then restore outages based on the largest number of customers served on a circuit."

It is important to report your outage.

Report it ASAP. Here is information.
Do not assume a neighbor or someone else on your street has called it in!
Always assume downed wires are LIVE! NEVER touch or drive over them!
