Stay informed, and stay well.
Dear Hazlet Residents,
Hope you, your family and friends are safe and well.
It has been a stressful few weeks as our town, state, country and the world has been dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Hazlet Police Department, First Aid & Rescue Squad, Fire Department, Office of Emergency Management, Department of Public Works, Township Administration, Municipal Employees and town wide volunteers have been doing an amazing job ensuring the safety of all the residents in town. The Township has been working with the Monmouth County Health Department and Office of Emergency Management to make sure that all our needs are being met. The Township Committee has been in constant contact with these departments and organizations, working with them closely, and continually updating Hazlet residents on our township website. We have been in constant contact with the Gov. Phil Murphy and his staff as well as our State and National representatives.
As I have said before, Hazlet is in good hands. All that needs to be done, is being done.
Gov. Murphy has established several executive orders which require all residents to practice social distancing and to stay at home as much as possible. All non-essential retail businesses are closed to the public. Also, all non-essential non-retail businesses are required to have their employees work from home, when possible, otherwise implement social distancing and other measures to ensure the safety of their employees. The governor has doubled down on those measures by stating his executive orders will be strictly enforced.
Our township website HazletTwp.org is our official source for information for residents. We may use other social media platforms as well, but the website is where to go to get information. We have been constantly updating the website since the start of this pandemic. There are links to other official sites that provide information and guidance. You can be alerted by email and/or text to information postings on the new website by signing up for NotifyMe. We do not plan on contacting residents directly unless they have signed up for this service.
Emergency notifications are done by the Hazlet Police. These emergency notifications are sent to those who has signed up for this service via Nixle. Again, these notifications are for emergencies only.
I am proud of the way our town has responded. These are serious times and Hazlet has been serious about slowing the spread of COVID-19. Please keep up the good work. Follow the Governor’s Executive Orders and the County, State and CDC guidelines.
Please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions.
