The Hazlet United Soccer Association complex at Green Acres Drive has been improved with new fencing, thanks to an allocation from the municipal Open Space Fund. The new fending replaces aged and broken fencing that separates the playing fields from the road and parking lots. On Saturday, August 14, the soccer club's board invited the Township Committee to see the new post and rail wooden fencing and meet some players.
On that same morning the club also celebrated the installation of a brand new asphalt roof over its existing restroom and concession stand building. The new roof will last 50 years. It was graciously donated and installed by Grapevine Pro of Matawan. The owner and his team were on hand for the ribbon-cutting and received thanks from the club members and township officials.
