In letter, they also ask that nursing graduates be granted temporary certification.
In a letter Monday to Gov. Phil Murphy, the Hazlet Township Committee has requested the state reimburse first responders and their families if they experience wage loss related COVID-19 quarantines. Currently, municipalities are unable to provide economic support to volunteers under rules set by the Dept. of Community Affairs.
They are also asking that New Jersey, like other states, provide temporary certification for graduates of accredited nursing programs until a certifying exam is available. At this time, New Jersey’s January nursing school graduates are still awaiting the exam, which has been twice postponed and is now projected for to be held sometime after May.
