[ARCHIVED] Law Enforcement Summer Camp Week

Police Youth Academy

2022 Police Youth Academy Camp will be held 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. August 8-12, 2022.

The goal of the Police Youth Academy is to familiarize children with the role of a Police Officer. Participants should be prepare for a hands-on experience in a wide variety of Law Enforcement techniques and Training. 

Each day will be dedicated to a different topic.

  • Military Etiquette Drill and Ceremony
  • Handcuffing techniques
  • Firearms Safety
  • Police Canine interactions
  • Basic Criminal investigations
  • Police Baton Training
  • Self-defense
  • First aid and Fire Safety

Applications
Open to all Hazlet students who will attend 6th or 7th grade in September. 
Seating is limited to 40 students and registrants will be chosen on a “lottery basis.” Applications are available at Police Headquarters, or by email request to cacevedo@hazletpd.org.

The cost is $35 per registrant, which will include (2) t-shirts, hat, and necessary materials. Children are required to wear khaki shorts, sneakers, and bring a bagged lunch daily.

All instruction, demonstrations and presentations will be administered and supervised by the men and women of the Hazlet Township Police Dept.
