Hazlet Property Inspections 2022

Hazlet Twp. Property Inspections

Hazlet Township is under contract with Appraisal Systems Inc. (ASI) to perform inspections, both interior and exterior, of all properties for the Assessor's records. This is a critical component in the fair distribution of taxes which fund municipal, county and local school budgets. This is also a way to determine if your property is being assessed correctly.

These inspections will begin this year.

This contract is a 5-year inspection cycle and will require that all properties are inspected once during this cycle. When it is time for your property to be inspected, you will be sent notification prior to your inspection, at which time there will be an option to do a remote virtual inspection if the resident chooses.

After the first attempted inspection, if the resident is not available, a notice will be affixed to the door stating that an attempt was made to inspect the premises and this notice will have contact information for ASI to return for an inspection.

The inspection routes are predetermined, but ASI will do their best to accommodate residents. Please be aware the inspectors will make a maximum of (3) visits.

The ASI personnel will carry identification. Our office and Police Dept. possess all inspector background information, NJDL#, and automobile characteristics.

The Notifications will state that if an interior inspection is not performed, then assessment data for that property will be estimated and this could result in an incorrect assessment for your property.

I would like to thank all the residents in advance for their patience and cooperation during these inspections.

Gail Scaglione, Tax Assessor
